It is difficult to care for something that is disconnected from us. Many of us don’t pay much attention to environmental problems because we don’t understand how the problem would affect us or our lifestyle.
The environment is associated to us as humans and we depend heavily on the environment for benefits such as shelter, food, water, etc. However, we also have a tremendous impact on the environment. To curtail these impacts, we need to consciously evaluate every decisions made on a daily basis.
It is appalling that we are losing some of our sensitivity toward the environment as our society becomes less engaged with what is happening in their environs. Through raising awareness, the level of understanding among the citizens increases and we can collectively move towards sustainability.
